Tim Sawdon has been a councillor since 1974. He is an ophthalmic optician with two practices in Coventry. Born in Yorkshire he studied at Bradford University before coming to Coventry in 1970. He stood for Parliament in Coventry SE in 1979. He is a non-executive director of the University Hospital NHS Trust and a member of the West Midlands Police Authority.
